Sitka blacktail deer are native to Alaska and are arguably the prettiest of all deer species. However, they are not small! A mature buck can weigh upwards of 200 pounds and typically carry a rack in the 85- to 100-inch range.
They inhabit some of the most stunning and diverse alpine habitat in the early season (August/September) and generally drop in elevation later in the fall (October/November). We hunt them from August to November.
