The Kodiak brown bear, ursus arctos middendorffi, is its own unique subspecies of Alaska brown bear, genetically isolated since the last ice age. Kodiaks are the biggest bears on earth! Reaching weights of over 1,500 pounds, they are truly a force of nature unto their own.
To hunt Kodiak Country is to walk in the footsteps of giants–truly a humbling and primal experience! We hunt bear in the spring (April/May) and fall (October/November).
